"The 330 GT featured in Ferrari press material including the factory brochure. Referenced as being used by Enzo Ferrari in Leonardo Acerbi’s book Ferrari: A Complete Guide to all Models."

According to the listing, the car comes in the original colour combination and more than £17,000 of work was performed by a marque specialist in January 2018.

The car comes with the original owner's manual, original brochure, period photographs, restoration cost spreadsheet, service and parts receipt, previous registrations, and a copy of a 1977 Ferrari letter confirming the car as one of the 330 GT prototypes and more.

The listing add: "With Ferrari becoming a dominant force on the race track in the 1950’s increasing interest in the marque meant further development of the prancing horses’ more practical consumer offerings.

"While practical is not an appropriate word to describe any Ferrari, the company saw the need for a proper 2+2 GT car and that resulted in the 330 GT 2+2, with the first prototype assembled in the summer of 1962.

"Derived from the limited production 330 America, the 330 GT featured a new frame with a wheelbase 2 inches longer than its predecessor which was heavily based on the 250 GTE.

“Built in two distinctive series of cars only 1,087 production 330 GT’s were built until 1967, the first 627 of which featured the unique four headlight arrangement.

“The 330 GT 2+2 today has a special moniker in Ferrari circles as it was one of the very few production cars that Enzo Ferrari drove personally with two of the prototypes driven by him as his personal cars."

It follows after Ferrari’s first-everhybrid hypercar went on sale for staggering £3.3million.

The 2015 vehicle, called the "LaFerrari", has space-age gull-wing doors and is finished in a garish bright yellow.

Meanwhile, the black seats are trimmed in yellow and the steering wheel bears the Prancing horse logo.

As well as its impressive top speed, the vehicle also boasts rapid acceleration - capable of going from 0 to 62mph in only 2.9 seconds.

With a Formula 1-style powertrain, this supercar boasts a 6,262-cc V-12 engine reaching up to 9,250rpm assisted by a 120 kW hybrid system generating 963 horsepower.
