The incredible footage shows the disgruntled beast, which was one of six bulls involved in yesterday’s event, crashing into a group of daredevils.
And while some of the runners were able to climb over the fence, others were tossed into the air and trampled on.
In a statement, the regional government said the injured American, 39, who is unnamed with the initials M.L.O, is not in a serious condition.
Authorities said that four Spaniards and another US tourist were also being treated for injuries.
More than 1,000 people took part in the 930 yard dash, at 8am local time, which lasts for around two-and-a-half minutes and is broadcast on national television.
Nine people sustained injuries during the final bull run today although no one reportedly was gored.
Since the start of this year’s festival on July 7, a total of 12 people, including four Americans, have been gored.
Fifteen people have been killed by bulls at the festival since 1924 – when the event’s record keeping began.
