THUNDERSTORMS battered the UK today after the Met Office issued two yellow weather warnings.
Brits were told to expect wind and flooding as two storms moved across the country on Sunday.
The first alert, covering Nottingham, Manchester and Newcastle, warned torrential rain, hail, lightening and high-speed winds would batter the country from 1pm until 9pm.
The foul weather reached as far north as Aberdeen.
A spokesman for the Met Office said: "Thunderstorms are developing across northern England and Scotland.
"They may cause disruption and localised flooding on Sunday afternoon and evening."
