I've experienced this amazing crowd, this amazing atmosphere with the one table.
"It is one of my favourite venues.
"It is my fourth time on the one-table set-up. I knew what to expect.
"I knew I could maybe put pressure on Xiao, and I knew he might be a little bit nervous as there is
    nowhere like this.
"It is job done and I'm into the final. That's the main thing."

  • It's all over!

It finished 6-2 to the World No2, who progresses to tomorrow's final of the German Masters.

Wilson is in red-hot form here, taking another frame with relative ease.

Could we be on course for a whitewash? I wouldn't be surprised considering the way Wilson is sinking these shots.

Barry Hawkins was "over the moon" to have dumped Wu Yize out of the competition.

He said: "I'm over the moon. Wu has been one of the players of the season.

"He is such a devastating long potter.

  • Trump on Hong Kong move

Judd Trump believes his life has changed for the better since he upped sticks to Hong Kong.

When asked what drew on what drew him to Hong Kong, he said: "Everything really.

"The food, the environment, the buildings, everything there is so special.

"In the middle of everything it is the hustle and bustle, then you drive 15 minutes and you have the beaches, you have the weather. It is such a nice place."

"The first few times I went there, perhaps I didn't realise quite how much it had to offer.

"It is so nice for me to be able to have that base. Without all of these tournaments in China and probably without Ding [Junhui] having all the success he has had I wouldn't be able to have that opportunity."

  • Wilson's 'Britney Spears moment'

Kyren Wilson joked he has had his "Britney Spears moment" after a close shave with the barbers back home.

The Warrior flew out to Berlin for this week’s German Masters after getting a buzz cut off his barber in Northamptonshire.

In his mind, it brought back memories of the American pop singer shaving off her long blonde hair in 2007 in an unexpected act of rebellion and liberation from the perils of fame and attention.

The world No.2 – who won a maiden world title last May with blond highlights – laughed: “I’ve had a Britney Spears moment!

“I had the blond hair, then I dyed it back. It was all mismatched. Just the length of my hair, it’s a nightmare.

“I’m having to have my haircut once a week. I think the positives to take from this is I have got a good hairline.

“I just said to my barber: ‘Let’s just start again.’ So we did a buzz cut, the same level all over, My hair will be back in a week-and-a-half, don’t worry about that.”

  • Walden latest

Ricky Walden hopes to play a qualifying match in South Yorkshire next Thursday despite his worrying illness scare.

The snooker star, 42, was rushed to hospital in Berlin on Wednesday evening with internal pains, which turned out to be pancreatitis – inflammation of the pancreas.

The world No.38 stayed overnight under medical supervision and withdrew from a Last-16 clash the next day with Barry Hawkins in the German Masters.

Walden remained in hospital on Thursday and Friday and is aware he needs his gallbladder removed at some point upon his return to the UK.

But his team are hopeful the Chester-born cueist may play a Welsh Open qualifier in Barnsley on February 6 – provided he is fit to do so.

Agent Lee Gorton said: “Ricky had been feeling unwell for a couple of days.

“He played his game on Wednesday against Dylan Emery and was in quite a lot of pain during the game.

“We were hoping it would subside but it didn’t. We went back to the hotel and he started getting progressively worse.

“We took him to the emergency room in Berlin hospital. After about a six-hour wait, we decided to keep him in.

“Give him some fluids. He has pancreatitis. He has got a bit of an issue at the moment.

“He needs his gallbladder removed and that is in plan at home. This is a flare-up with the same condition.

“He may have a gallstone in the wrong place or whatever. He is going to be in hospital for a few days.

“We hope we can bring him home and then he will have the surgery.

“Ricky has had a lot of people message him. He’s had a lot of support and is really chuffed by it.

“He’s still hoping to play. If he comes back and is in good shape, then he will go to Welsh Open qualifying. Fingers crossed.”
