  • Front and centre

Ruben Amorim has hinted Manchester United are in the market for a new centre-back.

Crocked defensive duo Leny Yoro and Matthijs de Ligt have struggled with injury throughout the season.

Amorim said: "I was thinking about next year, the squad if we need another guy, if [Yoro] is a long injury.

"That is my concern. It is not just about the [Europa League] final. Of course I want every player fit.

"But Yoro in his foot... he had that problem. I was so concerned about the next season, the next squad, the way we build up the squad.

    "That was my biggest concern."

  • Rash decision

Marcus Rashford believes Manchester United will sell him for £40million this summer, according to reports.

The England forward is not willing to take a pay cut on his £325,000-a-week wages.

But the BBC report sources close to Rashford expect him to return to United for pre-season training in July.

However, Ruben Amorim does not want to restore Rashford to his squad after sending him out on loan in January.

  • Cliffe edge

Manchester United co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe has tumbled down the Sunday Times Rich List following a drop in his net worth.

The 72-year-old has suffered a £6.5BILLION decline over the last year, making him one of the biggest fallers on the list.

And there could be trouble ahead if United fail to beat Tottenham in the Europa League final.

  • Man Utd team news

The Red Devils will be without Diogo Dalot, Matthijs de Ligt, Ayden Heaven and Leny Yoro for this evening's clash with Chelsea.

They join Lisandro Martinez and Joshua Zirkzee on the treatment table.

Boss Ruben Amorim has been boosted by returns for Toby Collyer and Jonny Evans.

  • Amorim on Prem form

Ruben Amorim believes that Man Utd are gradually improving despite, their woeful Prem form.

The Portuguese said: "It’s hard to talk about that without looking like a crazy guy but if you see the xG for example in the last games, ours is bigger.

"You can see, against Wolves, we are so near and they score a goal in set-pieces. This game [against West Ham last Sunday] was the first time they reach our goal and they score, and we had opportunities.

"Especially in the second half. So, I can understand that, manage that, but it’s hard to talk about that in this moment.

"Let’s focus on finishing in a good way and then we’ll prepare the future in the end of the season."

  • Dyche on United woes

Sean Dyche has vowed that he would be winning more games at Man Utd than struggling boss Ruben Amorim.

Appearing on Stick to Football, the former Everton and Burnley manager said of Amorim: "He better win some games then, pretty quick, in my opinion.

"I reckon if I went there and played my way I reckon I'd win more games and I'm not just saying that, just 4-4-2!

"Give them the basic rules and principles, some good players here.

"You don't have to over teach everyone, I don't think. I'll be interested more in the longer run. If he can stick to his principles and next season we're all going, 'hey, fair play'."

  • Viktor Gyokeres transfer latest

Arsenal are set to make rumoured Man Utd target Viktor Gyokeres one of their highest earners – and could land him for just £60million.

The Gunners are among a host of Europe’s elite chasing the prolific Swede striker.

Gyokeres, 26, has scored 95 goals in 100 games since joining Sporting Lisbon from Coventry City.

The forward cost the Portuguese club £16.8m in the summer of 2023 - and reports suggest Sporting have already agreed a price with Arsenal for one of their top targets.

New sporting director Andrea Berta has placed Gyokeres high on his wishlist as the Gunners look to overhaul their attack.

The Mirror report that there is already an agreement in place on price between the two clubs.

The £60m fee represents a lower figure than the £85m release clause included in the forward’s contract - but that price tag “could go higher” if clubs pile in for a bidding war in the summer, with Manchester United among those tracking Gyokeres.

  • Nasri's Man Utd regrets

Patrice Evra has claimed Samir Nasri regretted snubbing Manchester United in 2011 - despite having just won the Premier League title with rivals City.

Nasri, 37, spent three years with Arsenal before a high-profile move north to Manchester City.

Speaking on the SDS podcast, Evra said: "[Nasri] agreed the terms [with United] and everything [in 2011]. I remember we were going into pre-season and I was on holiday. I text him and say 'Samir, what time you coming? We can go to training together'.

"There was no answer. I then saw Alex Ferguson, he said, 'Did you see what your French boy did? He said, 'He's going to sign for City'. I said, 'No boss, you're joking."

The attacking midfielder won the Prem in his first season with the club.

Evra continued: "I remember I saw him after they were celebrating [winning the league]. I asked him, 'You are happy? You made the right choice?' He said, 'I made a mistake. I should have signed for United'."

  • How Rashford has done at Villa

Here's a look at how Marcus Rashford has fared this season across spells at United and Aston Villa.

The Man Utd loanee has played his last game for Unai Emery's side.

  • More on Marcus Rashford

It is unlikely he will play for his boyhood club again while Ruben Amorim remains in charge.

The challenge will be to find a club which is willing to pay Rashford’s £315,000-a-week wages as he does not want to take a pay cut.

Villa are believed to be covering around 75 per cent of that while he is on loan with them with United making up the shortfall.

They may have to enter into a similar arrangement if they want to get him off the books permanently this summer.

Another loan deal is an option if a permanent move cannot be found.

Rashford is clear he wants to join a Champions League club.

  • Rashford transfer latest

Marcus Rashford will be up for grabs for £40million this summer.

Aston Villa will have the option to buy the Manchester United ace after he spent the last half of the season on loan with them.

However, Unai Emery's side do not have the first option on the 27-year-old and other clubs can sign him for the same fee in the close season.

Villa have confirmed that Rashford is not fit to face Tottenham tomorrow, meaning he has played his last game for them.

That’s because their final game of the season next Sunday is against his parent club at Old Trafford when he would be ineligible.

As things stand he is due to return to Carrington to begin pre-season training in early July.

  • New Sancho suitor emerges

Jadon Sancho has spent this season on loan at Chelsea, who have an obligation to make the deal permanent for a fee in the region of £20-25m.

Reports have since emerged that the Blues could get out of their obligation by paying Man Utd £5m.

Should that happen, reports in Turkey are suggesting that Fenerbahce could launch a swoop for the Man Utd outcast.

According to Turkish outlet Yeni Asir, former United boss Jose Mourinho has given a potential move the green light.

  • Amorim on player focus

Ruben Amorim has vowed that his Man Utd stars must give tomorrow's clash with Chelsea their full, undivided attention - despite next week's Europa League final.

The 40-year-old said: "Again, it’s going to be a massive part, this game to the next one. So, we need to perform and they need to perform. That is the important thing.

"Then we are going to, the same way, if there is a player that can get an injury [and is] not recovered for this game so [it] will put him in risk for the final, he will not play.

"But if it’s not that situation, we will have a lot of time to recover. And we cannot spend eight days, nine days without a game.

"That is a bad thing for the final so I think they will be prepared for the game."

  • Amorim on Chelsea rotation

Man Utd boss Ruben Amorim has played down the possibility of heavily rotating his team against Chelsea tomorrow, ahead of next week's Europa League final.

Asked about the prospect, the Portuguese said: "Yeah, we have time to recover. The best thing to prepare the final is to play the game [against Chelsea].

"The players have to understand that if you play or don’t play against Chelsea, it means nothing to the final, that is important.

"I’m just preparing [for] the game of Chelsea, that is my focus. We want to win and we want to perform."

  • Amorim on Chelsea test

Man Utd boss Ruben Amorim wants a big performance from his men against Chelsea tomorrow... irrespective of the distraction provided by next week's Europa League final.

The Portuguese said: "The best way is to face the game like we should face the game. We need to perform, we need to win points in the Premier League and that is the feeling.

"We talked about that after West Ham. We need to improve in the way we face competition, stay focused in every moment of the game because, again against West Ham, we had clear situations to score.

"In the first opportunity of West Ham, they score one goal. So, these small details matter.

"The only way I know how to prepare a final, in the normal game for our league, we must play the same way as a final."

  • Bayindir set for exit

Man Utd goalkeeper Altay Bayindir is "virtually certain” to leave the club this summer, claim the BBC.

  • Ruben’s defensive hope

Ruben Amorim has suggested Manchester United will enter the market for a new centre-back in the summer.

He said: “I was thinking about next year, the squad if we need another guy, if it is a long injury.
