V-Bucks, short for Vinderbucks, are the online currency of Fortnite.
Video game users can use them to buy in-game items including Battle Passes, outfits, pickaxes and emotes.
The virtual currency takes its name from an in-game company named Vindertech which, in the world of Fortnite, produces technology and weapons.
Buying V-Bucks
V-Bucks can only be required in a small number of ways.
They can be bought from the in-game V-bucks page or from having a Fortnite Crew subscription, which grants players 1000 V-Bucks a month.
Fortnite Crew is a subscription service which costs £9.99 a month and gives players access to exclusive outfits, cosmetics and the current battle pass.
V-Bucks can also be purchased from most stores which sell video games.
These stores include GAME, Argos, ASDA, the online Nintendo Store and the Playstation store.

The cheapest bundle you can buy will cost £6.99 and will give you 1000 V-Bucks.
2,800 V-Bucks will cost £17,49 and 5000 V-Bucks will set you back £27.99.

You can’t gift V-Bucks
V-Bucks are non-transferable, because Epic Games, the developers of Fortnite, wanted to avoid players being scammed.
This means you cannot gift V-Bucks once they have been bought or cashed in.
There have been reports of scammers seeking access to players’ accounts in exchange for V-Bucks, but the police have warned that this could have devastating consequences.
These scammers might try to steal your personal data and information.

The only way to “gift” V-Bucks in real life is to give someone an unredeemed V-Bucks gift card, which has been purchased from a real-life shop.
To redeem one of these cards, players simply need to log into their Epic Games account and enter the PIN code on the back of their card.
