YOUR Sky TV set can throw out all sorts of error messages and codes.

Fortunately there's a clever tool that allows you to work out what these alerts mean instantly.

And it works for Sky+, Sky Q, Sky Stream and Sky Glass.

There's help for errors that appear in the Sky Q app as well.

All you have to do is type out the exact wording and the site will tell you what's wrong.

And it'll hopefully come up with the right fix to get things working again.

"If your on screen message includes the name of the programme you were trying to book or watch, please enter it as [programme name]," the site says.

"For example, if your on screen message says "Game of Thrones has been cancelled", please enter “[Programme name] has been cancelled”."

"Type the message exactly as you see it and wait for your message to show, then click it.

"You don't need to press enter."

Be sure not to type any personal information like your name or account number though.

If you're seeing an error within an app like Netflix or BBC iPlayer you'll have to check it with the provider.

You can find the on screen message look up tool on .
