It could also do power-hungry tasks like removing objects from videos.

There's even a way to share both your selfie camera and rear camera video simultaneously.

The firm has put AI at the heart of its latest product, which will be used by the likes of ASUS, Honor, iQOO, MEIZU, NIO, Nubia, OnePlus, OPPO, realme, Redmi, RedMagic, Sony, vivo, Xiaomi, and ZTE.

At an event in Hawaii, the tech giant showed how the Gen 3 could take AI virtual assistants to a new level, allowing it to generate images in less than a second.

It can even respond verbally.

And all the more surprising is they run directly on the device for speed and privacy - so none of your data is pinged to the cloud.

Qualcomm says its new chips will also deliver a massive boost to things like mobile gaming, describing it as "console-defying".

Despite being able to do so much more, the tech giant claims it doesn't come at the cost of battery life.

"Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 infuses high-performance AI across the entire system to deliver premium-level performance and extraordinary experiences to consumers," said Chris Patrick, senior vice president and general manager of mobile handsets, Qualcomm Technologies, Inc.

"This platform unlocks a new era of generative AI enabling users to generate unique content, help with productivity, and other breakthrough use cases.

"Each year, we set out to design leading features and technologies that will power our latest Snapdragon 8-series mobile platform and the next generation of flagship Android devices.

"The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 delivers."
