Instead, Charlie was joined by Tina Daheley, who looked great in a black blouse and berry coloured trousers.

Viewers were quick to praise Tina, with one writing on Twitter: "Enjoy the sofa Tina. Great job so far, good company with Charlie along side. Looking fabulous, enjoy the day."

Another added: "Tina – you look fabulous!"

Tina will no doubt appreciate the compliments, considering she had to clarify that she wasn't pregnant again earlier this week.

The 41-year-old already has a daughter with her fiance Kane William-Smith but was made aware of speculation online that she was expecting again.

Taking to her Instagram, she wrote: "When presenting BBC Breakfast a few months ago I was alerted (as happens in the online world) to the fact that people were speculating about whether or not I was pregnant again.

"The answer is no I am not expecting a second child! But I am someone who had a baby, and whose body did not 'snap back' immediately.

"In fact it may never 'snap back' and be the same as it was before childbirth but that’s also normal!!!"

Tina continued: "I would like to have the body I had before and have recently restarted my relationship with fitness so we’ll see how it goes - but if this is the cost for having a little piece of my heart toddling around the world every day, I’d do it a thousand times over.

"And even though I work in an industry where it may count against me."

BBC Breakfast airs daily from 6am on BBC One.
