The One Show’s Alex Jones reveals her future on the show as co-host Jermaine Jenas is axed

THE One Show's Alex Jones has spoken about her future with the BBC show.
The presenter joined the BBC programme in 2010 and said she has no intention of leaving.
She made her comments shortly before co-host Jermaine Jenas' sacking, with ex-footballer, 41, being dismissed from his role following complaints about alleged "inappropriate behaviour".
Alex, 47, said for her "longevity is key" as she addressed her future at the Beeb earlier this month.
She said on Fearne Cotton's Happy Place podcast: "I can't believe I'm still here.
"I just go in, do the job and hope no one notices I'm still there. I just love it.
"People ask a lot: 'What do you want to do next? Don't you want to do a big entertainment show?' I'm like: 'What do you mean?' I'm really happy."
Alex then could not help but get reflective, as she admitted that she has no grand desires for any swanky, shiny floor entertainment projects.
Instead, the star admitted that she is exactly where she wants to be in her career.
"All new projects are exciting and a new challenge but actually it would be really amiss of anybody to overlook the bread and butter," she added.
"All the extra bits are really fun and exciting but actually for me longevity is key.
"I want to be there. Being the main breadwinner, I want to be able to provide security for the children."
The Sun revealed married dad-of-four Jenas was accused by a female staff member of sending "flirty" texts before more people came forward to complain about his workplace behaviour.
An investigation was launched and the star was ultimately axed.
In an exclusive interview hours after he was axed, Jermaine told The Sun he wanted to apologise to the women involved by the BBC wouldn't allow him to.
The sacked Match of the Day and One Show host said: “I wasn’t allowed to contact the women at all."
The shaken former Premier League and England footballer has blasted the BBC over the way it dealt with his sacking.
Tearful Jenas, 41, said: “The handling of the situation wasn’t great. It was quick — and hell.
“I don’t think there was a game plan for when they were going to announce they’d fired me.
"I think different departments were being told different things. I think it’s shocking".
However, viewers were annoyed One Show presenters Clara Amfo and Alex failed to speak refer to the situation last week.
One person wrote on social media as the episode began: "I wonder if their now infamous former colleague will be commented on?!"
