Child magician Teddy Magic was scheduled to appear on last week's programme but pulled out with seconds to go in chaotic live scenes.

It was later revealed by the show's hosts Ant and Dec that he would instead be performing later in the series.

However, eight-year-old Teddy failed to appear during a second live semi-final leaving many fans puzzled.

And it has now been confirmed that Teddy has in fact quit Britain's Got Talent.

A BGT Spokesperson said: “After discussions with Teddy’s parents and the production team, it has been jointly agreed that Teddy won’t perform in this year’s semi-finals, but BGT hopes to see Teddy again in a future series.”

Teddy’s family said: “We want to thank everyone who has supported Teddy and cheered him on – he continues to fill our world with magic.”

Unlike many other TV talent shows, there is no age limit on taking part in BGT. However, under 18s need the permission of their parents to apply, and must be accompanied to auditions and shows by a responsible adult.

Fans were left begging to know "what was going on" amid Teddy's ongoing disappearance.

Taking to X - formerly Twitter - at the time, one BGT viewer wrote: "Another Teddy no show."

Another quickly commented: "No Teddy Magic tonight again? What's going on?"

A third penned online: "So no little Ted then?"

Ant and Dec were forced to reveal that Teddy was "delayed" backstage.

His intro VT played out as planned but Teddy did not show up on stage.

It was later confirmed that he would not perform as planned in the episode.

With Simon looking angry, Ant and Dec then affirmed how he is only eight years of age, but Simon didn't seem sympathetic.

The hosting duo were then left scrambling to fill the gap, asking Simon about the previous act even though he'd already spoken about it.
