MICHELLE Keegan teases a return to Our Girl as she claims military drama exit "isn't forever".
While fans were overjoyed with the news the fifth season will arrive in March, Michelle broke their hearts by saying it would be last time she plays Georgie Lane.
However, all is not lost as the 32-year-old has kept the door open for an eventual return.
Speaking about leaving during a Q&A heard by , Michelle said: "You can never say it's forever, I just can't.
"It's really tough. I've done four series, and I just want to explore other opportunities, that's it.
"I love the show so much. This show has helped me grow to how I am now.
"These four years have made me grow more than any other show in my life. This isn't typical for me."
The new series will see Amy-Leigh Hickman play a novice army medic who will be the main reason Georgie returns to Afghanistan, even though she has PTSD.
Meanwhile, the Stockport-born actress is looking to try posher roles after finding fame as Tina McIntyre on Corrie from 2007 to 2013.
When asked by The Sun if she would like to take part in the second Downton movie, she said: "Would I be upstairs or downstairs?

"You know what, I don’t mind, but anything that pushes me as an actor and changes people’s perception to say, ‘Oh I didn’t expect her to do that’, would be really good.
"I mean, I’ve never felt that prejudice, but people might say it behind my back.
"I’d want to do it anyway — for me, as a challenge to myself.
"I would love to do a period drama, not just because I’m really interested in history but because I’ve never done a period piece before.
"I’d totally immerse myself in the role — and, yes, I can do a posh accent . . . but I’m not gonna do it for you right now."
