MARTINE McCutcheon has added another iconic death scene to her illustrious acting career.
Not content with just being bumped off EastEnders by a wayward car, the actress had Midsomer Murders viewers in stitches when her character fell victim to a giant cheese.
In the episode, which originally aired in 2013, Martine played vixen Debbie Moffett, a dairy worker with a secret.
Her first scene saw her storming into a mother's meeting and threatening to reveal all manner of sordid secrets about the women in her village.
Soon after she headed off to a cheese producer where she met her untimely and yet hilarious end.
"Well I'm here," she said as she walked through the cheese warehouse.
"So come on then you wanted to have it out. I should've known you wouldn't have had the guts."
But as she walked deeper into the room, she called out to tell her killer that she wasn't in the mood for games.
Unfortunately at that point a shelving unit was knocked into her and she lay dazed, trapped under it.
Then in a sinister twist, an unnamed assailant picked up a giant cheese wheel and walloped her over the head with it, killing her dead.
Understandably, viewers found the camp death utterly hilarious and took to social media to share their thoughts.
One wrote: "Probably the greatest ever death scene. Death by cheese. #midsomermurders"
Another tweeted: "Midsomer Murders has reached its zenith. I've just seen Martine McCutcheon killed with a truckle of cheese."
"Watching Midsomer Murders. Martine McCutcheon has been killed in the first ten minutes. Reassured Britain hasn't changed since I left in 2000," added a third:
Since her bit part in Midsomer Murders, Martine has enjoyed a huge career revival with a regular slot on Loose Women and a new record deal.
