When will Poldark return, will there be a series five and who’s in the cast?

POLDARK series four has recently reached its dramatic conclusion on BBC One.
But will there be a fifth series and if so, when will it air? Here’s what we know so far…
When will Poldark return for series five?
Poldark series five is likely to return to BBC1 next year.
Series four ended on July 29, 2018.
The show’s writer, Debbie Horsfield, has previously suggested the next series will be the last.
She said: “As far as we’re concerned it’s going to be the last.”
Who will be in the cast of Poldark series five?
It’s thought the next series of the show will be adapted from The Stranger from the Sea, which is the eighth book in the Winston Graham 12 part collection.
This is ten years on from series four, which would make Poldark (Aidan Turner) 50.
It is unclear whether Ross and co will be recast or if the actors will be made up to look older.
No casting details have been announced yet.

What will happen in Poldark series five?
Series five is expected to focus on the children that we met in series four.
Ross and Demelza’s daughter, Isabelle Rose, features a lot in the later books as does Jeremy and Clowance.
Jeremy is now 19 and wants a job in engineering, but his dad is concerned it is too dangerous.
The title The Stranger from the Sea comes from Jeremy saving a stranger at sea – who then goes on to fall in love with Clowance.
